Platinum Visual Systems Achieves SCS Certification

Platinum Visual Systems is pleased to announce that in accordance with our ongoing efforts to develop and manufacture products that positively contribute to healthy environments, we have completed testing, and received, SCS Indoor Advantage^TM Gold Certification. Products that are now SCS Certified include Markerboards, Chalkboards, Tackboards with Natural Cork, Tackboards with Fine-grain colored cork, Tackboards with Vinyl tackable surfaces, Tackboards with Fabric tackable surfaces, Bulletin/Directory Cases and Display Cases. These SCS Certified Products will now be compliant with the strict indoor air emission requirements that are contained in California Section 01350.

The CA Section 01350 is recognized by both the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Schools sustainable building programs, which identify pollutant source control as a vital sustainability objective. The CA 01350 standard for indoor air quality emission has been adopted by many States to date, and additional States are currently in various stages of the adoption process.

Indoor air pollution may lead to serious health consequences such as headaches, respiratory diseases, developmental defects, neurological disease and cancer. Poor indoor air quality is extremely important to children's health as their organs and body systems are still developing and may be damaged by VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). Platinum Visual Systems places the health and safety of our students and faculty at the forefront of our environmentally safe corporate initiative, so insuring that the products we manufacture meet the indoor air quality emission requirements was an utmost priority. Insuring that our products were certified by a third-party independent inspection and certification organization further demonstrates our commitment to the process.
